Bronze sculptures and paintings by artist Charlie Norton are reflections of his life. Charlie's interest is the historical west; whether it be paleo-man, primitive weapons, guns, buffalo or the beginning of the west. Anthropology and Archaeology are a part of Norton's life.
The Artist Charlie Norton is never without subjects for paintings or putting ideas into the form of bronze sculpture. Personal experiences of living on the high plains and historical interest became a rich storehouse of concepts and images.
He enjoys the events surrounding the buffalo and people of the buffalo. Charlie's creations manage to capture and hold that single moment in time by utilizing his experience second natural creative ability.
"Creating a sculpture is one of the most everlasting statements a man can make. I like the overall freedom which one can project an idea in three dimensions. I think a person has to be realistic and honest with himself in order to excel beyond expectations. I always want to create, hopefully, something better than I did yesterday. I want to create art that will stimulate people to do better things in years to come".
